Cornucopia - Chapter 1
Devotions, Thanks, and Praises to Fortuna
This chant emerged. It began much like this:
I worked on it some more, and go it down to a more steady cadence:
This is it.
Time to start adding more and moving things outward.
Here is some sound from a practice session (just a selection!)
As it stands, this chant is:
Laden is the cornucopia
Pouring abundance on me
I am guided by your rudder
Jai Fortuna
About this:
Reaching out for abundance is real, is it not? I know I need more of it. So, to Fortune I call. The goddess Fortuna has an old, ancient history. I was misinformed about some of it. Come to find out that one can entreat her for blessings and she does answer. So it is.
The cornucopia is the horn or basket that yields the collection of foods. Her rudder (literally a rudder from a boat or ship) steers us through the rivers of life. These are common symbols for her and her influence. “Jai” is sanskrit for “victory,” it’s a form of praise and acknowledgement.
This chant will probably be expanded in interesting ways, it feels like it could be part of a movement + meditation soundscape + chant experience. I definitely want a full arrangement of it.
